X Color Management that supports various CIE-based color spaces comesstandard with X11R5-based applications. However, your system may not havebeen delivered with a device profile that properly calibrates the X ColorManagement System (Xcms) to your particular display system. XcmxCaldetermines the exact color capability of the display configuration(monitor and display hardware) and generates a device profile thatcalibrates your particular display system for X and the CIE colorstandard. The device profile does not require complicated installationprocedures - it is automatically utilized by X applications, thusenabling the novice X user to effectively utilize XcmsCal.
